Welcome to BGC, Inc.
BGC, Inc. - Building Greater Communities, started business January 1, 1997, and is a private, non-profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. We have provided independent support coordination services primarily to children and adults who have developmental disabilities and who receive funding through the TN Medicaid Waiver program. Individuals receiving this support comes to us via the Tennessee Department of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DIDD).
Programs
Medicaid Waiver
The Medicaid Waiver, sometimes referred to the Med Waiver Program, is a way the state of Tennessee can use Medicaid dollars for services of people with intellectual developmental disabilities.
Katie Beckett Waiver
Tennessee’s Katie Beckett program is for children under the age of 18 with disabilities or complex medical needs. This program is for children who are not Medicaid eligible because of their parent’s income or assets.
TN Strong Families HRA
Tennessee Strong Families HRA helps kids who have an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD) and are currently in Tennessee state custody by providing flexible funding so families can pay for needed services and supports.

The Memorial Fund
Leanne, an individual once supported by BGC Inc., has made a monetary gift to help others obtain conservatorships, and other items not eligible for Medicaid funding.
Linda Mauer Award
Each fall TASC (Tennessee Alliance of Support Coordinators) gives an award to an ISC from each of the three Tennessee Regions who exemplifies the qualities of excellence in providing independent support coordination services.
ISC Satisfaction Survey
We encourage input from persons receiving services, conservators, guardians, family members, natural supports, Direct Support Professionals, provider agency management, and therapy providers.
